We scheduled a telemedicine appointment for our 13-month-old child due to illness during an ice storm, as we were unable to leave our home and our pediatrician's office was closed. Unfortunately, the provider was rude and condescending throughout the interaction. The appointment should not have been accepted, as the provider stated she could not treat a patient of this age via telemedicine. This determination could and should have been made prior to the appointment time. While she ultimately agreed to cancel the visit, the interaction lacked professionalism and empathy, especially given the circumstances and the age of the patient. We understand the limitations of telemedicine, but clearer screening and more respectful communication would have avoided this situation entirely.

I've already recommended her three times and we left less than an hour ago.
