Marcus Rovira, FNP-C, received his bachelor's degree in nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. He then completed his master's degree in nursing and primary care education at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He is a Board Certified family nurse practitioner and treats children and adults of all ages.As an ICU nurse for six years, Marcus cared for many chronically ill patients who became acutely ill because of lack of access to a provider or lack of understanding about their disease. He pursued becoming a NP because he felt that he could help keep these type of patients well, out of ICU, and give them a better quality of life.
