Dr. Jonah Flowers is a native of Winnfield, La., and the Family Medicine Residency Clinic Director at FMOL Health | St. Francis.  

She graduated from Winnfield Senior High School and went on to earn her bachelor of science in physics from Grambling State University in 2000 and her doctor of osteopathic medicine from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM-Virginia) in Blacksburg, Va., in 2008. She received her master of health administration from Howard University in Washington, D.C., 2026.  

After graduating from medical school, she completed a one-year osteopathic rotating internship at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg, VA and then residency in Family Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University/Bon Secours St. Francis Family Medicine Residency in Midlothian, Va. She is board certified in Family Medicine and certified in American Sign Language.  

She worked as a Family Medicine physician in Norfolk, Va., providing preventive care, chronic disease management, wellness physicals and more to all age groups and Deaf patients. During her time in clinic, she taught third-year medical students while serving as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine for Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has worked in academic leadership as the Associate Chair for Rural Medicine and Underserved Primary Care at the VCOM-Louisiana campus.  

Dr. Flowers has participated in international mission trips to Cape Town, South Africa; Kenya, Africa; and El Salvador and Honduras.  

Her professional memberships include the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, American Osteopathic Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, and Louisiana Osteopathic Medical Association, and Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians.  

Dr. Flowers resides in Monroe, LA. She is an active member in her local church, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and the Order of Eastern Star.  In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, skating, running, reading and traveling.
