Physician assistant Caroline Hanks recently joined the practice of fellow Our Lady of Lourdes Children’s Health provider Dr. Gabriel Dersam, the region’s only pediatric-focused orthopedic surgery practice caring for patients in the Lafayette and Lake Charles areas. Caroline earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette before completing a master’s in physician assistant studies at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University in Baton Rouge.

    Caroline was excellent. She took the time to reassure my daughter that just because her foot/ankle wasn't hurting at the moment didn't mean there wasn't anything wrong and she wasn't crazy.

    She was funny, spoke very clearly and listened to pain levels and didn't push anymore then necessary
